“This has been the worst assessment cycle that I’ve seen of any assessor that I have served with as an elected official in my almost two decades,” says Board of Review member Larry Rogers.
Rogers—also a trial attorney at Power Rogers and a Democrat who has served on the Board of Review since 2004—says that poor execution of Kaegi’s switch from a mainframe computer to new tech for the 2021 assessment cycle has stymied other county offices in the property tax chain of command from BOR down to the treasurer. The end result is late bills.
