According to an article by Edgar County Watchdogs, Kitty Kurth of Kurth Lampe Worldwide, published a press release that had no factual merit. According to ECW, Kurth’s release comprised a lie to the public. Kitty is part of the husband and wife team of Kurth Lampe who are involved in campaign messaging.
Kurth published the “piece” on prlog.org. She originally attributed the article to Calumet City Clerk Nyota Figgs. But Figgs said she did not prepare it and the attribution was later changed to Kitty Kurth. Figgs has hired Kurth to conduct messaging for her related to her desire to seek hire elected office (see below). Kitty has published a set of releases through her being contracted. The releases are commonly smear jobs with little basis in fact, and quite poorly written.
Per the ECW article, Kurth claims.
“Officials in Calumet City were tipped off months ago that the moves that Benford and Jones are making are strikingly similar to moves that Benford and colleagues with the “Edgar County Watchdogs” group have made in other municipalities.”
ECW states, “We are not “colleagues” with Benford and have never made any “moves” with Benford in other municipalities. We did join one lawsuit filed for violations of the Open Meetings Act in DuPage Township, who later admitted in writing that it was an illegal meeting.”
Kurth’s hyperbole also asserted, “Their modus operandi seems to be to tie up municipalities in court and make money from the legal fees. Jones and Calumet City are just their latest pawn and playground.”
ECW replied, “We have never “tied up municipalities in court” nor “made money from the legal fees.” We have never used Calumet City for anything, and certainly not for a pawn or a playground.”

ECW reports that Kurth Lampe maintains an email list to who they send the releases they publish on prlog.org.
Kitty Kurth and Kevin Lampe should be embarrassed for publishing lies and misleading those who are on their email list.
